Inauguration of Masonic Study Circle at Kolkata

M.W.Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, OSM visited Kolkata on 14th January, 2010, which was his maiden visit to the Eastern Region as Most Worshipful the Grand Master. Most Worshipful the Grand Master also Inaugurated ‘On The Level – The Eastern Masonic Study Circle’ at Freemasons’ Hall, Kolkata.

The study circle nominated Most Worshipful the Grand Master as it’s Founder Chairman. Most Worshipful the Grand Master then presided over the remainder of the meeting, appointed it’s officers for the ensuing year, adopted the rules and regulations and addressed the distinguished gathering of Brethren.

Most Worshipful the Grand Master nominated R.W. Bro. Sisir Kumar Ghosh, R.W. the Regional Grand Master as the Vice-Chairman of the Study Circle. Several papers were presented during the transaction of the business at the Inaugural Meeting. Thereafter, Most Worshipful the Grand Master delivered the Chairman’s Address. Most Worshipful the Grand Master also released the Inaugural Issue of the Journal and the Jewel of the Study Circle. The study circle is open to Freemasons from all recognized Masonic jurisdictions from across the world. Brethren interested in joining may apply via email to W.Bro. The Study Circle adopted the following Declaration :

Declaration

We the undersigned, prompted by a genuine desire for knowledge and a healthy spirit of inquiry into the more recondite meaning and esoteries of Masonic mysteries of preceding ages, have this day constituted ourselves into a regular Masonic research body under the Name and Title:

On The Level – The Eastern Masonic Study Circle We for the management of the Study Circle in a constitutional manner have enacted and given to ourselves certain Rules and Regulations to all of which we pledge our unqualified obedience.

We further nominate M.W. Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, OSM, Most Worshipful the Grand Master as the Founder Chairman; R.W. Bro. Sisir Kr. Ghosh, Right Worshipful the Regional Grand Master, RGLEI as the Founder Vice-Chairman; W.Bro. Ambarish Singh Roy, Past Grand Marshall, as the Founder Secretary and W.Bro. Pervez S. Kaikobad, Past Grand Standard Bearer, as the Founder Treasurer.

Witnesseth Thereof, we the founders have set our signatures on this Instrument of Declaration, this Thursday the Fourteenth Day of January in the year Two Thousand and Ten Anno Domini, corresponding to Six Thousand and Ten Anno Lucis.
